CASED BREVETTE COLT NAVY REVOLVER.

Cal. 36. S# 24139. Revolver has no external numbers, other than S# stamped in bottom left grip. Bbl. housing & cyl. have British powder proofs. Matching 2 digit numbers are stamped internally on all major components except loading lever & cyl. which is British proofed on chambers, Liege proof on front. Cyl. is also hand engraved w/ shaded scrolling acanthus & floral highlights. Bbl. 6 7/8" oct., marked "ADDRESS COL. SAMl COLT NEW' YORK U.S.A. AMERICA". Left side of frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT". Iron backstrap & triggerguard. Revolver is blued & case hardened. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: housed in dense mahogany case w/ inlet fancy bordered rectangular escutcheon. Interior is lined in blue velvet & has remnants of lg. paper label in lid, partially marked "DIRECTIONS FOR LOADING COLTS XXX". Case contains unmarked copper bodied plain 5" bag flask, "Colt's Patent" marked bullet mold, combo nipple wrench & Eley cap tin. CONDITION: gun is fine overall, bbl. retaining most of it's original bright blue w/ considerable scattered freckling & loss from flaking. Loading lever & frame w/ approx. 70% original case hardening color. Cyl. retains about 50-60% dark inky blue, retains 4 partial safety pins. Straps retain traces of blue & are mostly gray brown. Grip retains most of an old varnish finish, has S# somewhat softened, but still legible. Gun appears all matching & complete, wedge numbered “329” w/ matching surface to balance of gun. Mechanics are functional, though sluggish. Crisp, rifled bore w/ pitting. Case has old refinish on exterior. Top escutcheon replaced. Interior cloth is very good w/ soiling & reductions where rubbed. 30% Of label is on lid. Accessories are good. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19789/JS).
