CASED DWM MODEL 1902 LUGER SEMI-AUTO CARBINE.

Cal. 30 Luger. S# 21840. Bbl. 11 3/4" w/ long ramp having Sheard style front sight bead in narrow Luger style dovetail; 4 position carbine rear sight marked "1, 2 & 3". Mfg. w/in S# range 21200-22100 & 23450-24900. 1902 features include: dished toggles w/ lock, early breech block w/ flat topped front & early extractor, wide trigger guard, narrow trigger, grip safety, stock lug & safety area polished bright (safe in up position). Matching numbered parts include: 840 on rear toggle & receiver lug; 40 on grip safety, breech block, front toggle, sideplate, takedown lever, trigger & both grips. Proper schnabel forend has swivel, internal recoil actuator that acts upon brass section soldered to bbl. & wedge retained to frame extension that is numbered 21840 (2 in smaller font appearing added after 1840). Rear sight attached to tapered band that does not totally encircle bbl. leaving 5/16" gap stamped "GERMANY" as an export mark for U.S. sales. Rare Luger model w/ references indicating about 2,500 mfg. Chamber properly blank; usually crown B & crown U on bbl. but none present. MAGS: 2 correct type tin plated 8 rd. w/ unmarked wood bases. 1 Good w/ cleaned oxidation & appearance of extra finish on base. Other w/ rnd. limiting pin through body about 2 3/4" from top plus other sm. cross drilled holes below limiting pin. Base appears new replacement. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: maroon felt lined walnut case having light exterior scratches. Top consists of multiple strips of walnut glued together plus recessed underside of base is birch plywood. Interior has general aged appearance yet felt under lid appears replacement along w/ recent production brass hinges. Compartmentalized w/ brass cleaning rod having oil drum handle. Cartridge block at end of case has 26 vintage cartridges. Unmarked original appearing loading tool. Functioning brass key w/ appearance of modern manufacture. Nice appearing buttstock w/ "40" numbered reblued iron having indexed attachment screws; latch lever blued instead of strawed. Light handling marks throughout stock w/ nicely applied extra finish & recut checkering. Grooved buttplate & sling swivel. CONDITION: very good overall appearance as refinished w/ faint toggle logo. Forend has extra finish but checkering appears original along w/ minor marks showing mainly on left side in front of trigger guard; slight perceived looseness of forend to extension. No internal in the white areas & all parts blued such as trigger bar & pivot in sideplate, firing pin & coupling link. Missing takedown lever detent spring plus noticeably weak grip safety spring. Polished bright area for safety; not as well defined as normal. Trigger pull much better than most Luger's. Strawed components have nice appearance but is painted like process as back side of trigger is blued. Tip of grip safety above frame & trigger return spring also have strawed appearance. Breech face w/ unfired appearance since refinish. Very good looking grips w/ very sm. chip on left in front of safety lever bottom. Good to very good bright bore w/ light wear & even faint frosting.
