Cal. 44. S# 5672. Bbl. 8", round with a New York address and blade sight. Ejector is mounted on the right side. Six-shot round, rebated conversion cyl. with naval scene roll engraving. Left side of frame has 1871 and 1872 patent dates. One-piece walnut grips. Bbl., frame, grip straps, and cyl. have matching numbers. Total of about 9,000 were converted 1871-78. One group of revolvers began at serial number 1-8700, and another group was within the 1860 army sequence 167,000-200,614. CONDITION: fine; retaining over 90% of its nickel finish. Grips show light finish wear and marks with grain checking in left panel. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling, showing areas of pitting near muzzle.
