Cal. 32-20. S# 487729. Bbl. 6". Army Special double action revolver, mfg. by Colt in 1923. Left side of bbl. is marked "COLT", followed by "ARMY/ SPECIAL" and the cal. designation, with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked over the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" marked hard rubber grips. Interior of right grip panel appears to be marked "WH/ APR I L/ IIIP3". Half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cyl. crane, and on the interior of the grip panels. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting pitting beneath the finish, a couple of areas of wear and thinning, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Near mirror bore, as refinished, exhibiting consistent light pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips exhibit some scattered handling marks and some chipping along the edges, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-3929/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
