SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 118212-S. Bbl. 4 1/2". Woodsman Match Target semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt in 1952. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Colt's mfg. and patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo above "MATCH TARGET," with the S# marked on the right. Left side of the slide is marked "COLT," followed by the cal. designation. Sides of bbl. and sides of frame at breech feature foliate scroll engraving, with the right side also exhibiting a small scene of a mountain lion, with the engravers initials "DH" engraved in the bottom right-hand corner of the scene. Metal components exhibit a combination of blue and matte blue finishes overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown plastic thumb rest grips, with the rear of the frame being mounted with a matching colored grip extension. Blade front sight, with adj. square notch rear sight. Trigger is fitted with a trigger shoe. MAGS: one 10-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain most of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, some areas of light surface oxidation, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few superficial marks from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Grip extension shows some warping, with a crack present at the base. PROVENANCE: from the collection of a Tennessee gentleman. (24-4521/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
