SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65x21mm Parabellum. S# 5906p. Bbl. 11 3/4". Model 1920 Commercial Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM after World War I from surplus and newly mfg. parts and components for commercial sales. The bbl. extension is marked with a German Crown/N commercial nitro proof on the left side, which is also present on the left side of the breechblock. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Left side of frame and underside of bbl. are stamped "GERMANY". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with a few smaller parts exhibiting a strawed finish. Area over chamber appears to have been touched up at one time. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Ramped white plastic beaded blade front sight, with standard V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, and rear toggle link. MAGS: 1 8-rd. with wood bottom. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finishes, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered flecks of light surface oxidation. Strawed parts retain large amounts of their finish, exhibiting scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-4132/MLW). MODERN. $600-900.
