Chapeau Attributed to Don Porfirio Diaz.
Constructed of black beaver felt with white ostrich feathers. This Chapeau features heavily gilded in gold braid and bullion, Gold Mexican officers button with eagle & amp; snake motif with the initials & #34;R M& #34; , a (red, white, and green) rosette, with a brown leather sweat band & amp; white silk interior lining. The lining is marked & #34;MODE DE PARIS& #34; Included is a period blue gloss coated thick paper stock hat box marked & #34;BAILHACHE & amp; CHARDON. SELLERIE. EQUIPEMENTS.& #34; & amp; & #34;Fourbisserie Militaire 41. Rue Richelieu& #34;.
***Chapeau shows light wear consistent with age & amp; use. It has no tears, cracks, very little to no fraying, and has kept its overall shape. The ostrich feathers show slight discoloration due to age. The hat box also shows some wear to the corners and edging with one small end tear and a few imperfections. Overall in excellent condition***
