Cased Pair of Halfstocked Flintlock Dueling Pistols, by Henry Nock, .67 cal. smoothbore, 9'' octagonal twist barrel, case hardened lightly engraved lockplates and hammers, roller frizzen springs, floral engraved triggerguards with pineapple finials to forward portion; rear portion of barrel and upper tang/breech plug engraved as well; silver ovoid escutcheons to top of wrists; checkered halfstock English walnut stocks with nickel forend tips. Locks marked ''H. Nock''; top barrel flats marked ''Maker London''. In original fancy mahogany case with brass screws and hardware, with one correct 17 bore bullet mold, cleaning rod with jag, two compartments, one for flint, one for ball, and one bag flask by Sykes. Condition to both pistol is fine showing light marks from handling, minor thinning to finish, knackering to stock near wedges. Blue triggerguards retain approx. 85% original finish. Ramrods appear period correct, although with slightly different brass tips. Case with repairs and crack from shrinkage over time. Interior lid missing top striker plate and is lined with an ivy green cotton velveteen, which shows discoloration and impressions. Interior of case with good edges to dust check and one possible repair along front edge. Lower portion of case is lined in a coarse English green baize material, which shows wear and thinning, especially in the area surrounding the powder flask. A very nice set of early 19th Century large caliber smoothbore pistols from a well-known English maker. Est.: $7,500-$10,000/pair. (Antique)
