Percussion Kentucky rifle restocked in Bedford County, Pennsylvania by George Slonaker, circa 1840. Rifle measures 53" with 38" octagon 58 caliber smoothbore barrel with hunting sights and signed in script "C. Beck". Replacement percussion lock with great hand forged Bedford high spur hammer with lock signed in script " G. Slonaker". Lock is controlled by double set triggers most likely installed by Slonaker. Full curly maple stock with Bedford County architecture done by Slonaker, using Beck's brass hardware. Period hardwood ramrod. CALIBER: 58. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall fair with metal showing pitting and brown patina. Stock has repaired wrist and is missing one barrel pin. Pitted bore with triggers out of adjustment and lock not holding cock.
