Civil War Moore's Patent Spurtrigger Front-Loading Cartridge Pocket Revolver, #9613, .32 Teatfire cal., 3.25'' blued round barrel marked on top ''Moore's Pat. Fire Arms Co. Brooklyn, N.Y.'' in one line, blued 6-shot round cylinder marked ''D. Williamson's Patent Jan. 5, 1864'' on its rear periphery, floral engraved and silver plated brass spurtrigger frame, two-piece varnished walnut ''bird's head'' grips. Condition is very good retaining no original blued finish with a light gunmetal gray color; approx. 20% original silver plating to frame. Grips retain approx. 95% original varnish. This revolver utilizes the special front-loading teatfire cartridge developed by Daniel Moore and David Williamson specifically to evade the Rollin White rear-loading metallic cartridge patents controlled by Smith & Wesson; its success resulted in the National Arms Company's purchase by Colt in 1870. Est.: $350-$500. (Antique)
