The contents of this lot are believed to be the belongings of Conrad Loari, a soldier of the Company C 2nd Regiment Virginia Cavalry who served from 9/7/1861 to 11/28/1864. Includes a framed discharge metal, 1863 dated Light Cavalry sword marked "U.S./A.D.R./1863" & "AMES MFG CO/CHICOPEE./MASS." with dulled edge, metal scabbard with leather straps & brass belt hanger marked "PETTIBONEE/MFG.CO./CIN'TI.O./PAT.", period leather belt with brass ends, period leather flap holster marked "MADE BY/J.I.PITTMAN/N-Y", printed documents pertaining to the service & pension of Conrad Loari with the last name spelled Lohry, Lowery, & Loarie, and lastly a Colt 1860 Army .44 caliber percussion revolver #131380 inscribed "Conrad Lorie/Co C 2nd Reg. Cav. Vols West Virginia" on the backstrap. Revolver features an 8" round barrel with "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S AMERICA-" marking, German silver blade front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the hammer, smooth thin trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped Naval Engagement scene, loading lever, round brass trigger guard, steel backstrap, three screw frame, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & butt and one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip with illegible boxed cartouches on both sides. All serial numbers match including the barrel, barrel wedge, cylinder, cylinder pin, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Observed inspector marks include: Cylinder - "D" & "D. Trigger guard - "H". Backstrap - "H". and Cylinder Pin - "T". Revolver displays a mottled aged grey/brown patina with a trace amount of case hardened color on the left side of the frame between the flat and recoil shield. Action performs well, the bore shows strong rifling & scattered pitting, marking are good, the cylinder scene is approximately 40-50% intact, and the walnut grip is good to very good with wear. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***Antique Firearm***
