'Four Screw, Early production' Martially marked & inspected single action percussion revolver issued to the Union Army during the American Civil War, manufactured circa 1861. Features an 8" round barrel with "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S AMERICA-" marking, German silver blade front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the hammer, smooth thin trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped Naval Engagement scene, loading lever, round brass trigger guard, steel backstrap, 'four screw' frame, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & butt and one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip with boxed ADK cartouche. All serial numbers match including the barrel, barrel wedge, cylinder, cylinder pin, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Inspector marks include: Barrel - "S", "K" & "S". Cylinder - "K", "K" & "2". Trigger guard - "K". Backstrap - "K". and Cylinder Pin - "S". Revolver displays an lovely smooth aged brown patina thought with a small amount of pin prick pitting and approximately 70% cylinder scene intact. Action performs well, the bore is semi-bright with strong rifling & scattered pitting, marking are very good and the walnut grip is good to very good with worn edges at the butt. Condition is NRA Very Good. Antique Firearm.
