"Four Screw Military Frame" Antique single action cap-n-ball black powder percussion revolver. Early manufacture, circa 1861. Features an 8" round barrel, German silver blade front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the hammer lip, smooth thin trigger, knurled hammer spur, non-fluted six shot cylinder with roll stamped Naval Engagement scene, loading lever, round brass trigger guard, steel backstrap, shoulder stock cuts in the recoil shield & butt and one-piece oil finished smooth walnut grip. Bore is good, fairly bright with sharp rifling, some light frosting or pitting throughout. Metal surfaces show a uniform dull gray or silver color, appears cleaned, with very light roughness from previous patina. Wood grip is good with slight shrinkage, several small chips or gouges. Right side of grip has remnants of an inscription in a large oval, too faint to read. Cylinder scene is visible although faint. Single line barrel address is fairly crisp. Serial number repeated on barrel, cylinder, triggerguard & back strap. Action is sound. Condition is NRA Very Good *** Antique Firearm ***
