Display #1 - Outstanding Colt Model 1917 .45ACP revolver, holster, medals, documents and display honoring PFC Harold J. Everts (1893-1971) who served in Europe with the 77th DIV Field Artillery and received combat medals - OISE, AISNE, 2nd Battle of Marne. Muese-Argonne and Verdun. Alos, his patches and photos. Display #2 - Has honorable discharge, dated May 10, 1919 and service certificate. Display #3 - Notebook containing many photos of Everts and family, military photos with inscriptions, copies of related military service records and original note from CPT W. Brackett denoting Evert's rejection from Marine Corps due to physical reasons. Interestingly he appeared as Von Flamborg in the Ziegfeld Follies and his wife was "the midnight girl". Everts wasn't injured during service by "gas attack". Model 1917 Colt .45ACP #65857 (number on butt) remains in original fine to near mint condition. 97% original military dull blue finish remains with only light holster wear observed. Only operation of action and marks on back of hammer from display (very minor). Bright original polish on hammer sides, bright bore, excellent markings, no drag line on cylinder. Grips show minor storage marks, but fine to excellent overall. Not quite mint, but very, very close. Rated 9.9 on 1-10 scale. Holster G&K MFG dated 1917 in good condition showing wear and use in the field. Included is the history of New York 305 Field Artillery. One dated. Shows Everts wearing holster w/ this revolver. Worthy of advanced collection or museum display.
