Owned by former Texas Ranger, John A Gillon, with documents and other extras. Single action revolver manufactured circa 1906. Features nickel finish, 4.75" barrel, fixed sights, mother of pearl type two piece grips, smooth trigger, wide hump back hammer with checkered spur. Bore is fair condition, dark & pitted with visible rifling. Retains 60% nickel re-finish, peeling or absent in many places to reveal brown colored patina on metal surfaces. Nickel appears to be an older refinish, with some markings such as serial number on backstrap and patent markings on frame showing as shallow and partially eroded. Grips are very good solid condition. Numbers match on frame, triggerguard & backstrap. Action is mechanically sound, smooth with lock-up being a bit loose. Revolver includes a burgundy velvet lined wood case. Colt Factory letter indicated the revolver shipped from the factory with indicated features, to include nickel finish and pearl grips. Also Includes: - Elgin open faced pocket watch with gold colored chain and Masonic fob, bearing a single white cut stone and initials "JG" (or "JC") with other unreadable cursive engraved monogram letters on back. - Fair condition leather drop loop holster with floral pattern engraving. - "Bexar County" Deputy Sheriff's badge with fair condition leather holder and key keeper. Badge appears to be brass with some remaining nickel plating. Numbered "207" - Large collection of papers, letters, photographs, documents.
