Invented in 1877 by Colt Firearms, the Gatling Gun was nicknamed the “Bulldog” and quickly became one of the most feared weapons in the world. This was the forerunner of future fully automatic weapons. Colt engineers developed this manually driven firearm that was built on a hand cranked drum with 5 barrels, every rotation of the handle produced 5 shots, when cranked at speed it is possible to fire 800 rounds a minute! Five separate barrels encased in 135 pounds of brass are mounted on a tripod that has minute adjustments for vertical and horizontal movement with an open v-notch sight, graduated up to 1,000 yards, and a locking safety mechanism. Quick detachable pivots allow the gun to be lifted out of the tripod and returned to the top of your fort or wagon. A detachable gravity fed pivoting speed feed magazine comes with the wooden blocks to help the loading process.
