Colt New Service Target revolver, .44 Russian and .44 S&W Special caliber, Serial #59496. The pistol is in excellent overall condition with a 7 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 98% of its original factoryblue with light handling and storage marks. The trigger, exterior screw heads and back of the hammer show bright nitre blue finish, while the Rampant Colt emblem is clear and crisp on the left side of the frame. Boththe front and back strap are hand checkered. The checkered wood inset gold medallion grips are in fine condition with sharp checkering and light handling marks. The bore is very good, the action crisp andmarkings are sharp. According to the consignor’s notes, the pistol was shipped on December 2, 1913 to Phil Bekeart Co., San Francisco, California. According to Colt New Service Revolvers by Bob Murphy, onlyapproximately 5% of the New Service Improved Model were manufactured in the .44 Russian caliber, the number produced with the 7 ½” barrel was significantly less, from the Gil Newton Collection. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
