DESCRIPTION
.44-40 caliber, 7.5" barrel, S/N 326162 (ca. 1913). All numbers match with the exception of the grips, the right of which is marked "7716". Blued finish with two-piece Colt hard rubber grips. Top of barrel marked with one-line Colt address, left side of barrel shows "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER .44-40". Bottom of grips carved by hand "101R". Includes letter from 101 Ranch Collector Jerry L. Murphey attesting to the authenticity of the piece, as well as a Colt factory letter stating the finish, serial number, and barrel length are correct, as well as record of the piece being sent to V.C. Seavers, noted Wild West Show performer and General Manager of the Young Buffalo Wild West Show, which operated from 1910 to 1913. **Very condition overall. Some moderate wear to finish, which has taken on a smooth gunmetal finish. Some old bluing remains on the center of the barrel. Grips show some moderate wear. Some scattered needlepoint pitting. Bore is somewhat dark.** $5000-7500
