Colt Single Action Army .32-20 SN: 274111
Revolver, single-action. 6-rd capacity. The classic American Colt SAA 1st Generation chambered in .32 W.C.F. (32-20). Blued metal finish, case-hardened frame, with black, hard rubber checkered grips with Rampant Colt. 4 3/4" barrel, with open iron sights., with V-notched frame. 2 line Colt address on top of barrel. Caliber on left side of barrel. Patent dates, and rampant Colt on left frame. Serial numbers match on frame, triggerguard, and backstrap. Numbers, and markings are clear. Assembly number is clear on the loading gate. Manufactured in 1906. Cylinder chambers appear very good. Bore appears good except there is a ring of pitting about mid-way. Blued finish is about 25%, with some finish remaining triggerguard, cylinder, and ejector housing. Also in protected areas. Some very slight traces of the case-hardened colors remain of the left frame. The rest has turned to a dull gray/brown patina, with some areas of surface rust, especially around the rear frame by the hammer. Correct ejector, and cylinder pin for this model, Grips serial numbers match the gun. Also on the inside of the left grip, someone has craved two dates, 12-25-47, and 12-7-72. (Christmas, and Pearl Harbor day??) Cocking action id crisp/tight. Provenance from the consignor is that it belonged to consignor's Great grandfather, James Kimsey, who came to Arizona in 1890 and settled in Winslow, Arizona. He managed Sunset Dairy of Brigham City. James Kimsey and his brother are mentioned in the book "The town is born"
An interesting SAA, with Arizona history. Includes a Colt factory letter stating it was shipped January 20, 1906 to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri in a 25 gun shipment.
NRA Condition-Very Good.
C& R Firearm.
