Antique Copy of a Smith & Wesson Top-Break Double Action Revolver, probably Spanish, by ''Smill & Welson, Sprangfeld, Mus. E.U.A.'', #402466, .38 CF cal., 5'' barrel marked with the ''Smill & Welson'' name, address and various patent dates in two lines on top rib, fluted 5-shot round cylinder; S&W style large front barrel hinge, frame with integral gripstraps; two-piece plain mother-of-pearl grips. Mfg'd ca. 1880s-90s, originally with full nickel-plate finish. Condition is very good, retaining approx. 40% nickel overall (where missing, a gunmetal gray color) mixed with scattered discoloration; MOP grips have a few edge chips, no cracks and brilliant iridescence. Barrel hinge is sound; action functions but cylinder does not lock up; bore is dirty with shallow rifling. Est.: $200-$400. (Antique)
