Donor: Pierce Engineering, John Pierce, 517-321-5051, www.pierceengineeringltd.com
Value: $1,035.00
Special Notes: Pierce Engineering has donated a custom action (long action repeater) for this evening’s auction. The heart of any rifle is the action. Pierce actions are used worldwide for hunting, competition, and law enforcement. Pierce
actions and rifles have been having great success at the national level in
F-Class competition. Use this as the start for your own custom build. Designed to provide bench rest accuracy, the 1.350”-diameter Pierce Action has a drop-in compatibility with stocks inletted for the Remington 700. Tactical bolt handles are available. Designed for the hunting, tactical, and varmint markets, the Pierce action starts with a base price of $935. Pierce actions are made from 4140 chrome-moly steel (This same steel is also used for crankshafts and connecting rods in professional race engines.) and comes standard with Cerakote finish. All Pierce actions feature the Pierce enhanced Firing-Pin Assembly (FPA). With a faster lock time (2.3 milliseconds) and lighter strike (4.3 in/lbs), the Pierce FPA delivers easier bolt lift and reduced disruption when the pin hits the primer. Independent testing (Precision Shooting, 12/05) concluded a Pierce FPA can even shrink group size. A Pierce recoil lug is also included in every Pierce action
purchase. John is now offering titanium actions and the winning bidder may
upgrade to titanium for an additional $350. The winning bidder needs to make arrangements with John to pick up action or build a rifle.

SPECIAL NOTES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON AUCTION HUNTS AND TRIPS
1. Upgrading your hunt, while not required, is certainly appreciated by our donors. If you do not want to add another animal, consider bringing along a friend. This really helps out these outfitters and hunting companies that are trying to help us! With few exceptions, these donors are not wealthy philanthropists, but rather they donate to help wildlife, ensure the future of our sport, and generate new business for themselves. Please do what you can to help!
2. If you buy a hunt at our auction that the donor fails to provide for you, through no fault of your own, we will make arrangements for a replacement hunt or we will issue you a credit. If you simply find it inconvenient to go on the dates available, or change your mind for some reason, then it is to be worked out between you and the outfitter. The buyer is responsible for communicating directly with the outfitter to confirm dates and details.
3. Different hunts include or specify different things, such as meals, lodging, transportation, weapon type, (gun, bow, or either), available dates, etc. Please read the descriptions carefully. As a general rule, hunting licenses are not included, unless on an enclosed game ranch. On Canadian hunts, there may be a Goods and Services Tax added to the selling price of the donated hunt (approximately 7%).
4. We do our best to solicit donated hunts only from competent outfitters. However, we do not guarantee the quality or success of any hunt purchased at this auction. All of this said, it is important to note that hunts purchased at our auction generally go very well, with both the donor and the buyer being well satisfied. Certain trips such as mountain hunts or spot and stalk hunts require a high level of physical fitness to maximize the opportunity for success. Other trips, such as game ranch hunts, are not physically demanding.
5. Please report the results of your donated hunt on the form included in your buyer’s packet. We really would like to know how it went. We also would like to encourage all buyers to submit photos and/or a complete story for publication in our chapter’s newsletter.
6. All sales and prizes are subject to state and federal taxes including sales tax.
7. If you are unable to attend our live auction in person and wish to place bids for live auction items, you may submit a bid online by establishing an account and providing payment information through our third party online auction representative. One of our representatives will then try to purchase your items of choice at the lowest price, but never for more than the top amount that you indicate. To place an absentee bid online, you will need to provide in advance a pre-approved credit card or other method of payment.
