RELATED MAGAZINES, PARTS, & ACCESSORIES. 1) 15 BAR magazines for 20-round, with 6 being housed within a khaki canvas magazine belt. CONDITION: all appear to remain serviceable w/ varying degrees of external wear from storage & handling. 2) 7 Johnson Model 1941 LMG magazines for 20-round. CONDITION: good w/ varying degrees of wear from handling & storage. 3) 15 M1 Carbine magazines for 10-round; 11 blued, 2 parkerized, 1 still in mummified wrap, & 1 reproduction. CONDITION: magazines exhibit varying degrees of wear & oxidation overall w/ most exhibiting at least mild oxidation. 4) Scarce 25-round extension magazine mfg. by Blank Cook Co., for use w/ the Springfield Model 1903 bolt action rifle. While there is no evidence directly stating the intended implementation of these magazines, on page 206 of "An Illustrated Guide to the '03 Springfield Service Rifle" by, Bruce N. Canfield, Canfield states, in an Ordnance Memo dated March of 1920, that 2,723 of the extension magazines had been delivered to Springfield Armory in 1918. The left side of the magazine is stamped w/ an eagle head over "X31" on the bottom left corner, as well as w/ an eagle head over "X32" on the bottom right corner. Nitre blued sheet metal cover is not present. Spring & follower are replacements. CONDITION: magazine body exhibits marks from handling & storage w/ areas of mild to moderate oxidation overall. 5) US World War II 1911 squad cleaning kit. Parkerized metal transit case stamped "US" within a circle. Case contains 10 brass cleaning rods, 2 brass oilers, 10 takedown tools, & 3 cleaning brushes. CONDITION: case exhibits oxidation on the lid w/ moderate pitting on the bottom panel. Brass cleaning rods exhibit discoloration & areas of verdigris. 6) Assortment of wartime production 1911A1 parts & components, including a Remington Rand slide, 2 blued bbls., bbl. bushing, recoil spring, recoil spring guide rod, mainspring housing, sear spring, grip safety, hammer, trigger, mag. catch, thumb safety, 2-piece checkered brown plastic grips, 3 magazines., as well as other small screws, springs, & small parts. CONDITION: slide retains large amounts of its period parkerized finish, showing thinning & light wear overall. 1 Bbl. retains the majority of its period blue finish, retaining a mirror bore w/ well-defined rifling throughout. Other bbl. exhibits heavy wear & retains a pitted bore w/ fair rifling throughout. Magazines exhibit varying amounts of wear & oxidation w/ one magazine exhibiting a dent on the lower right side. Small parts exhibit varying degrees of wear w/ a few exhibiting some light oxidation, but otherwise remain serviceable. 7) Miscellaneous magazines, including 1 Ruger P.85 mag., 3 High Standard mags., 1 FN Model 1922 mag., 1 Walther Model PP stainless .380 ACP mag., 2 AMT .45 ACP mags., 1 stainless Colt .45 ACP 1911 mag., 1 H&R .22 LR mag. CONDITION: magazines exhibit varying degrees of wear from use, as well as handling & storage, but remain sturdy & serviceable. 8) Miscellaneous parts & accessories, including 1 Chinese SKS spike bayonet, 1 SKS butt trap cleaning kit, 1 M1 Garand bolt, 1 M16 cleaning kit in green nylon pouch, 1 AR-15 picatinny rail mounted carry handle w/ rear sight, 1 Marble's brass cleaning rod in knurled metal tube, 1 Colt M16 bipod w/ green canvas pouch, 1 unidentified mag. loader, & 2 .45-70 stripper clips. CONDITION: good overall w/ varying degrees of wear, but all appearing to remain sturdy & serviceable. 9) 1 US Mills khaki canvas web belt & 1 M5 bayonet w/ M8 scabbard. CONDITION: web belt is very good overall. Bayonet & scabbard show some wear, but otherwise remain sturdy & serviceable. PROVENANCE: from the estate collection of Thomas J. Mulligan.
