AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1307170. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked on the right side with "WP" proof. Throat gauges 3.0. Muzzle gauges 8.0. Locking bar aperture rear sight with "battle range" elevation knob. Blade front sight with widely spaced protective ears. Receiver has only the drawing # on the right front leg "D28291-2". All major parts are Winchester marked. Unmarked single slot gas cylinder lock screw. Milled trigger guard . Walnut stock set. Handguards appear to be period replacements. Buttstock is marked on the left side with boxed " WRA / GHD" and "crossed cannons". No "P" proof is present. Well worn brown leather military style sling with repaired hook. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel plated oiler,cleaning kit and grease container in butt. CONDITION: The stock set has had a professional cleaning rendering the markings faint but has a nice appearance with scattered handling marks. The metal has a worn thinning original greyish Parkerization. The two tone anneal is visible on the receiver. The bore has moderately worn lands turning dark in the grooves.
