Adventure at the Kuranui! Kuranui New Zealand is pleased to offer this fantastic opportunity for two hunters for a 5-day hunt at the Kaimai-Mamaku Range of New Zealand’s North Island. Nestled in a secluded valley by the Kuhatahi stream is Kuranui Lodge. Built by owners Mort and Mel Moon, it is the first of its kind in New Zealand using straw bale construction. Plush super king beds with en-suites, under floor heating and a huge open fireplace make this a luxurious hunters’ retreat. The food from Mel’s kitchen is delicious and she specializes in game cuisine – her char-grilled venison with wine and berry sauce is legendary! This hunt is available during May, June or July 2015/2016, and includes the trophy fees for 2x silver medal fallow buck (one per hunter) and a $500 trophy credit per hunter toward a red stag of their choice. Method of take is rifle only. This package includes four nights luxury lodge accommodations at the Kuranui Lodge, all meals, pre-dinner NZ beers, quality NZ wine with evening meals, round-trip transportation between Rotorua airport and the lodge if required, 2x1 guide services, field preparation and delivery of trophies to expediter or taxidermist in New Zealand. Not included are any other accommodation arrangements, extended stay at Kuranui, additional guests, additional trophies/upgrades, other alcoholic beverages, firearms permit, taxidermy, packaging/expediting and gratuities. At Kuranui, the lodge and hunting reserve are exclusively yours for the hunt. Additional hunters, as well as non-hunters, are welcome at current rates. Fallow buck and red stag upgrades can be decided in the field and other trophies may be added including rusa stag, Sika stag, feral goat, Arapawa ram, tahr and chamois. A reasonable standard of fitness is an advantage, however, all guests are assured an exciting and successful hunt. World-class trout fishing, coastal fishing or diving adventures can also be added at an additional cost. Kuranui has an air of seclusion and remoteness, while still being within easy travelling distance of the magnificent Central North Island Thermal Tourist attractions, adventure activities and shopping. Please consult hosts Mort and Mel Moon for costs of additional trophies, adventures, upgrades, accompanying guests and extended stay. Rifles and ammunition can be supplied in 30cal WSM, .30-06 and .308 caliber. There is no charge for rifle use, only for ammunition used. Come experience the morning mist that shrouds the Kaimai-Mamaku ranges where pure clear water tumbles out of the lush, ancient forests. Hunting this beautiful country with Mort for some of the world’s finest trophies will be among your most memorable hunting experiences!
