TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 1987. Bbl. 28 1/8". Model 75 bolt action target rifle, mfg. by Winchester during the second year of production (1939). The left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, followed by the model and cal. designations, as well as the Winchester trademark logo. Left side of the receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, with the S# "1987" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the bolt body, which is in-the-white. Checkered wood pistol grip buttstock features a checkered steel buttplate and an 11 1/4" aluminum rail on the underside of the forearm marked "AL FREELAND". Lyman 77R globe front sight with Redfield adj. aperture rear sight. Bbl. has been drilled and tapped. MAGS: 1 5-rd. CONDITION: receiver and bbl. retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning overall. Trigger guard retains traces of its original factory blue finish, with the balance exhibiting gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered marks and impressions overall from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-2012/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
