EARLY BERETTA 7.62 NATO BM59 SELECT FIRE. FULLY

TRANSFERABLE. Cal. 7.62 NATO. S# X000125. Bbl. 19”. Heavily resembling a crossover between the M-1 Garand & the M-14, the Italian BM59 is a creature all to itself. Bridging the gap between the 2 systems we have the receiver style of the M-1 Garand with detachable mag. capabilities of the M-14 in the 7.62 NATO cartridge. Housed in a beautiful hardwood stock w/ matching bbl. shroud, it enjoys a dark stain that still illustrates the original wood grain. It has an interesting muzzle brake, sometimes referred to as a Tri-comp, doubling as a grenade launcher, also including a folding grenade sight system. A rugged bipod providing over 11" of clearance, folds tightly under the forearm of the stock when not employed. The front sight is a protected blade style w/ a rear peep sight that is micro adj. for both windage & elevation. The receiver is designed to be top loaded utilizing stripper clips even though it utilizes a detachable 20 rd. proprietary box mag. The fire control selector is located on the front left side of the receiver w/ designations A-S for automatic & semi-automatic. Left rear portion of the receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY’. Extreme rear of the receiver on top is marked “P. BERETTA - 7.62MM BM59 – GARDONE VT – ITALIA – X000125”. Right side charging handle. Folding Winter trigger. Safety is located internally at the front of the triggerguard. Shoulder stock utilizes a rubber buttpad that conceals a folding shoulder rest. Sling swivels front & rear. Several components individually marked “PB BM59” as well as additional markings on side. MAGS: 1-20 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory green & white Springfield Armory cardboard box; assorted manuals & pamphlets as provided by Springfield. CONDITION: exposed metal surfaces still enjoy complete coverage of original matte finish. Very gentle thinning on high spots & on areas of mechanical intervention. Gas tube finish appears more of a thinning gun blue than the dark parkerized finish found elsewhere on exposed metal surfaces. Wood stock has a few light cracks on the top heat shield. All sights move freely & bipod properly intersects w/ designated positions on stock. Bright bore w/ well pronounced rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-1522/JZ). MODERN CLASS III. $12,000-18,000.
