RING CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 110516. Bbl. 20". Model 1894 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1897. Top of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, with the cal. designation marked at the breech, and "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" marked on the left. Metal components exhibit a blue finish. Plain wood straight grip buttstock and forend. Buttstock exhibits a repair on the left side of the wrist at the receiver, an additional brass screw, and is inscribed "BEA.". Sides of forend exhibit carved notches. Marbles Model 94-C white beaded blade front sight, with unmarked flip-up aperture rear sight mounted on the receiver tang. Original rear sight is absent. Receiver retains its saddle ring. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance exhibiting a brown patina, with areas of light pitting and some scattered spots of mild surface oxidation present overall. Dark bore, exhibiting pitting, while retaining fair rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, as well as the aforementioned repair on the buttstock, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (01-26330/MLW).
