SHOT TARGET PISTOL IN EXPERIMENTAL/PROTOTYPE RANGE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 28. Bbl. 8" fitted to revolver. A second 10" barrel is included. Adjustable Patridge front sight with windage adjustable square notch rear sight. A front sight blade is not included with the 10" bbl. Unique single shot pistol built on a revolver frame. Bbl. pivots to the left for opening. Blue finished two piece ivory grips with rampant Colt medallions. Flayderman’s guide to Antique American Firearms gives the following description: “less than 100, believed experimentals, made in 1920; all with serial numbers under 100”. “Blue Book Pocket Guide for Colt Dates of Manufacture” by R. L. Wilson states: “S/N 1-63 experimental/prototypes 1920-1926”. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt Archives Properties letter lists the following information: “COLT CAMP PERRY REVOLVER". Serial Number: 28, Caliber: .22 Long Rifle, Bbl. Length: 10", Finish: Blue, Type of Stocks: checkered Walnut, Shipped To: Murta, Appleton and Company, Address: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Date of Shipment: December 23, 1926, Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 10”. Also included is 2nd bbl. as described above. CONDITION: over 80% blue finish remains showing carry and edge wear. Grips have a pleasing age yellowed appearance. Sound mechanics.
