SEMI-AUTO M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 4443472. Bbl. 18", marked behind front sight "BUFFALO ARMS 8-1943 FLAMING BOMB". Lip type rear sight marked "S". Blade type front sight w/ protective ears. Sight marked "N". These highly prized M1 carbines in original configuration are amongst the rarest if not the rarest of the different contractors. There were approx. 29,000 produced using receivers mfg. by Union Switch & Signal & serial numbered in the range of approx. 4,432,100 to 4,532,099. This accounts for the UN in the Quality Hardware marking at the rear of the receiver. Unmarked narrow bbl. band w/ stamped swivel. Straight cut slide marked "DA-Q". Flat bolt marked "EM-Q". Milled trigger guard marked "Q-NL". Push button safety. Mag. catch marked "LP- Q". Hammer marked "LT-Q". Recoil plate is unmarked. High wood oval cut walnut stock. Buttstock has illegible boxed marking in sling slot. Faint crossed cannons at right side of butt. 2 Rivet handguard marked "Q-RMC". MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "UQ". CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear, sm. dents & scratches throughout w/ light staining but maintaining a good appearance w/ a slight loss of wood in inletted areas. Metal has 75% original parkerized finish w/ a blend of light & dark gray parkerizing, light wear & handling marks. Handguard appears to have original finish and slightly showing more finish than buttstock. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (21-3588/RW). CURIO. $3,500-4,500.
