East German JP Sauer Fortuna Combination Drilling 16x16 Gauge Shotgun 7x57 R Rifle
Manufactured in East Germany in 1975 at the former J.P. Sauer factory. Imported by DLN of Howard Lake, MN. Features 25" blued "Special Gewehr Laufstahl" matted rib 16 gauge side by side shotgun barrels over a 7x57 R caliber rifle. Barrels are marked with steel type and "Fortuna-Suhl / Made in G.D.R.". Fitted with rifle sight and rear flip-down. Chambered for 2-3/4" shells, extractors and Full and Modified chokes. Drilling is fitted in European style claw mounts with Hertel & Reuss 2-3/4-10X scope with European post reticle. Coin finished boxlock game scene engraved frame with Hirsch on left and ducks in flight on right. Fitted with sideclips, double triggers (front being a set) and top tang rifle selector with Greener style safety. European walnut checkered pistol grip stock with Roman nose architecture and right hand cheekpiece. Suhl symbol marked hard rubber butt plate and grip cap. Matching walnut checkered splinter forearm with latch release. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/4". DAH: 1-3/4". CALIBER: 16x16 / 7x57 R. S/N: 975012. FFL STATUS: Modern.
CONDITION
Retains 90% overall with blue showing edge and handling wear. Wood has sharp checkering with small scratches. Good bores and mechanics. Clear optics.
