Martini-Henry cavalry carbine. 'Interchangeable Carbine 1' Antique British military lever-operated breech loading single shot service rifle chambered for the .577-450 Martini-Henry cartridge. Manufactured circa 1881. Features a 21.25" barrel, military style front sight, tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 yards, two barrel bands, metal forend cap, cleaning rod, serrated trigger, cocked indicator, full-length smooth wood forend and straight grip shoulder stock with smooth metal buttplate. Receiver is marked '[crown]/VR', Enfield/1881, I.C.1", '(broad arrow). Rifle exhibits full coverage of gray patina over slightly rough surface finish, thinning to bare metal on corners & edges. Action performs well. Bore is very good with strong rifling, shiny appearance with some darkness in grooves. Wood is serviceable good condition, many small dings & dents. Birmingham proofs, British inspectors marks, and "WD" with broad arrow. (War Dept) present. NRA Condition-Very Good as Antique Firearm.
