.577-450 Caliber British single shot military rifle manufactured circa 1888. Features 33" barrel, bayonet lug, cleaning rod under barrel, flip-up ladder type adjustable rear sight, two piece stock with straight grip, falling block lever action, cocking indicator, sling swivels. Bore is dark/rough with strong rifling. Metal shows an mostly even dull blue turning a brown patina in places. Wood is fair to good solid condition with many small shallow gouges, scratches. No import marks observed. Markings are thin / shallow, include crown over "VR" over "ENFIELD" "IV" over chamber, broad arrow over "E" or "F" over "WD" on bands. Comes with a Wilkerson sword Bayonet, Martini-Henry, Pattern 1887 MkII, adopted in 1889 and differs from the previous model with an unfullered blade. Very well marked, clean 18.5 inch polished steel blade with leather grips and sound original scabbard. Nepalese marked scabbard, also a original black leather sling attached, also stamped with Nepalese markings. A nice set,
