This excavated 5 lbs cannon was retrieved from the San Antonio River during the renovations to build the famous River Walk. The cannon weighs 59 lbs and is 17& #34; length. Tapered from the breech to the muzzle. Cast Iron. Has casting marks and has been painted to preserve it from rusted. No Carriage, just the tube. It is reported that the Mexican Army disabled cannons from the Alamo by spiking them and breaking off the casabel from both trunions and throwing them into the San Antonio River.
