Extremely Rare Pre-WW II Belgium Browning C2 Grade (Diana) Superposed O/U Shotgun
Made in Belgium by Browning in 1933. These Pre-World II guns are hard to find, especially in high grades. 32" blued Special Steel 12 gauge barrels with stepped ventilated rib ejectors with 2-3/4" chambers and full and full chokes. Rib is fitted with bead front sight and bead mid sight with barrel marked with Gauge and Browning, St. Louis, Missouri address and Browning Patents. Satin finish boxlock action with double triggers and non-automatic safety with "S" in gold. Action is engraved with standard Diana or C-2 Grade boar scene on right and hirsch on left. Bottom is vignette engraved with three gold quail. This is considered a factory special order as gold is not listed as an option. Breeches have the usual chiseled floral pattern. Walnut checkered round knob, pistol grip, long tang stock, with added spacer and Pachmayr pad. Matching walnut checkered latch release attached forearm with horseshoe plate. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/2". CONDITION
Overall 70% fading barrel blue. Action has some slight oxidation areas with sharp engraving. Wood has faded appearance with checkering showing slight wear. Butt has been cut and 1" spacer and pad have been added. Good bores and mechanics. A super rare gun.
