REVOLVER WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 45. S# S94430. Bbl. 6 1/2". Model 1950 double action revolver, mfg. by Smith & Wesson, circa. 1952-1953. Left side of the bbl. is marked "SMITH & WESSON", with "45 CAL. MODEL 1950" marked on the right. Right side of the frame is marked with the S&W trademark logo, followed by S&W's mfg. information. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger and hammer, which exhibit a case color hardened finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece S&W medallion checkered wood grips. Ramped blade front sight, with adj. square notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cyl., ejector, and bbl. Matching assembly #s are present on the frame and cyl. crane. Interior of right grip is numbered "166074". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood display case, containing a disassembly tool, cleaning rod, and bore brush. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light wear on the ejector rod and a mild dragline on the cyl. Trigger and hammer retain strong case color hardening overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few superficial marks from handling and storage but otherwise remain very good to excellent overall. Display case shows some light exterior wear but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-5644/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
