GUN WITH BURGESS SOUND SUPPRESSOR. Cal. 45ACP. S# 591 (SMG) & 7645ACP2034 (Suppressor). Bbl. 14" over suppressor. The Stemple model 76/45 is similar in design to the Smith & Wesson M76 SMG & the later MK760 w/ the earliest lineage going back to the "Swedish K". While they were originally chambered in 9mm, this one is chambered in the larger 45 ACP making it more attractive to some shooters. This offering is one of the newest transferable SMG's on the market where it was developed well after the 1986 cutoff but used the earlier registered parts in its design. Open bolt, blowback operated firing mechanism w/ a familiar tube receiver, machined bolt, fixed firing pin, and the bbl. locked in place using a perforated bbl. jacket / bbl. nut. This particular model is sporting a Burgess sound suppressor. Left side folding stock. Front sight is a protected post while rear peep sight is mounted on 4.5" Weaver base above receiver. Matte black finish on all exterior metal exposed components. Magazine well on right side marked "76/45 JOHN R. STEMPLE GROVEPORT OHIO" & S# "S/N 591". Right rear of tube marked "J.R. STEMPLE GROVEPORT OHIO" w/ serial number. Wood grips. Safety notch to lock the bolt to the rear outside its normal firing position. MAGS: none. CONDITION: Finish complete & consistent w/ some thinning on high spots & in some areas of mechanical intervention. Bore bright w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT SMG & SOUND SUPPRESSOR, EACH REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY RANSFERABLE. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Ivan Lee Shapiro. (03-1770 & 03-1780/JZ). MODERN CLASS III. $7,000-11,000.
