'Jungle Carbine'. British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured at the Royal Ordnance Factory in Fazakerley, Liverpool circa 1947. Features a matte black finish, 20.5" barrel, dovetailed front sight base with protective sight ears, cone style flash suppressor & bayonet lug, dovetailed patridge front sight, receiver mounted folding aperture sight graduated to 800 meters, smooth trigger, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, 10 round detachable magazine, sling points, hollowed bolt handle, steel buttplate with rubber recoil pad, and smooth wood stocks, Import marks on barrel. Left receiver rail marked "No. 5 MK I (F) 4/47 AA1837", British proofs and broad arrow marks,. Rifle retains most of its black painted finish turning a brown patina with edge wear, and handling loss. Action is smooth, the bore is good with strong rifling, a couple of spots of pitting. The wood stocks are very good/sound
