Fine Civil War era spear point Bowie knife by “Crookes & Clark” with a 9 ¼” blade of thick stock and showing an etched slogan, “Always Ready”. This military slogan was used by many Army units and the Coast Guard. Theknife features mellow, aged stag grips with brass and German silver mounts. The original scabbard with tip, throat and button hanger button. The blade is near fine with minor pitting and erosion near the tip. Brightoriginal lead polish and full dimensions with 95% plus frosty etching. A strong 9.5 on a scale of 1-10. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
