Flintlock Kentucky with characteristics of the Upper Susquehanna Region of Pennsylvania, circa 1820. 50 caliber 26" smooth bore engraved brass octagon to round barrel (with a questionable age) with flared "Cannon" type muzzle and blade brass front sight. Period Flintlock with single trigger control with beveled brass two bolt sideplate. Curly maple half-stock with brass hardware including an Upper Susquehanna style "Q" finial type patchbox with 9 piercings. Stock has brass saddle plate, two piece comb, two brass wrist inlays, brass deer and star. The brass inlays are possibly later add-ons. Rifle has silver "Hunter's Star" on cheek and silver oval thumbpiece. Comes with brass tipped ramrod with brass keeper screw in brass nose piece. Rifle measures 41" overall with a neat appearance. CALIBER: 50. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall Good with brass unpolished and having an older aged looking patina. Wood has traces of finishing with handling dings and marks. Dark bore with functioning mechanics. Small crack in front of lock and trigger guard.
