French flintlock pocket pistol, .50 caliber, 7” overall with 3.5” barrel in overall good to very good condition, good action, sterling mounts, very good carved burl wood stock with several old well-done repairs. Accompanied by consignor notes that states bought in New Orleans and was one of a pair; family would sell only one; consignor also notes “Gillier” marked as maker (Antoine Gillier (1681-1757)) of either of the whole gun or the barrel; reportedly well-known maker who worked atthe St. Etienne Arsenal and for the Tissot family (1740-1750).
