PISTOL WITH CAPTURE PAPERWORK AND SOUVENIRS. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 8739n. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Spreewerke circa. 1943-1944. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38" followed by Spreewerke's "cyq" mfg. code and the S#, with Eagle/88 acceptance proofs and an eagle firing proof on the right. Metal components exhibit a dull blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece brown pressed resin grips. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1 brown leather holster marked with a "jwa" mfg. code on the rear, 1 M1891 Mosin Nagant lock ring bayonet, and 1 Agfa film camera. Also included is a 1945 dated Certificate of Retention and Customs Declaration form, listing the P.38 (by S#), bayonet, and camera as captured enemy material. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some edge wear, wear and thinning on the grip strap, and some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting light pitting throughout. Grips are good, exhibiting some marks from handling and storage overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting age related cracking and crazing overall, with the bottom section of the left belt loop having torn from the body. 1891 Mosin Nagant bayonet retains bountiful amounts of its blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of surface oxidation overall. Camera is very good overall. A nice Spreewerke P.38 with wartime souvenirs and capture paperwork. (24-1651/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
