SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 18307. Bbl. 2 7/8". Bohella semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Becker & Hollander circa. 1915-1918 for the Imperial German military. The left side of the slide is marked "Selstlade-Pistole Bohella Cal. 7,65 D.R.P.," with "Becker & Hollander. Waffenbau Suhl." marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the S#, followed by a Crown/N commercial nitro proof (also present on the left side of the slide and bbl.) and a crowned German military acceptance proof, with an Imperial German Reichsadler marked on the front of the triggerguard bow. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish overall, with the trigger and safety lever/slide catch exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, which appear to have been sanded and re-grooved at one time. Half-moon blade front sight with a V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger, trigger bar, slide, bbl., as well as the grips. Trigger bar S# appears to have originally been a factory error, originally reading "8305" and having been over-stamped to "8307." MAGS: two 7-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked period brown leather holster. CONDITION: extremely fine, as restored, with metal components retaining virtually all of their reapplied blue finishes overall, exhibiting scattered spots of pitting beneath the finish. Very bright bore (as refinished), exhibiting scattered spots of mild pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips are excellent overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, as well as some light age-related cracking and crazing, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-6762/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.
