PISTOL WITH HOLSTER, STOCK, & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 9792e. Bbl. 7 7/8". LP.08 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by DWM under contract for the Imperial German military in 1917. The bbl. extension is marked "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs stamped on the right. Left side of the breechblock as well as the right side of the bbl. and bbl. extension exhibit an Imperial German Reichsadler. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Underside of bbl. is stamped "GERMANY". Frame, bbl., bbl. extension, and toggle train exhibit a rust blue finish, with the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece reproduction checkered wood grips. Standard blade front sight with V-notch tangent rear sight graduated 1-8. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, front sight blade, rear sight assembly, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, as well as the toggles. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag. with unnumbered wood bottom. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original brown leather holster (containing a reproduction cleaning rod), non-matching imperially proofed flat board shoulder stock, as well as a pair of stag grips. Mfg. marking on interior of holster's closure flap is obscured by the brass closure strap stud. Original stock harness' leather strap and band at toe are contemporary replacements, with the originals also being present. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original rust blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Strawed components exhibit some wear and thinning, with scattered spots of oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting some very light pitting towards the muzzle while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some separation to the stitching, with areas of age-related cracking and crazing present overall. Stock exhibits scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-3843/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
