SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 171096. Bbl. 3 3/8". Model 1914 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser for the Imperial German military during WWI. Left side of the slide is marked with the S#, followed by Mauser's mfg. information, with "Mauser - 7,65" marked on the right. Top of the slide is marked with a small crowned Imperial German military acceptance proof ahead of the rear sight dovetail, with a double-crowned "U" commercial proof marked at the rear. Sideplate is marked with the Mauser banner logo. Front of the trigger guard is stamped with an Imperial German eagle. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece checkered wood wraparound grip, which has been sanded and revarnished at one time. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sideplate, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster stamped with a boxed "L.Z. St./ H.Dr." above "SATTLELIEF.-VERB./ SITZ DRESDEN/ 1918." on the body. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some light wear and thinning, with some small, scattered spots of pitting present overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of oxidation, while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grip is good, showing a few minor marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some mild age-related cracking and crazing. (24-6855/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
