Manufactured circa 1920's in Germany. Barrel rib is marked "O.T.WACKES IN SUHL". No visible import marks. Matching serials on the barrel and frame. Forearm is not numbered. Standard commercial nitro proofs. 27" blued 16 gauge steel barrels over approximately 9.3 x 72 R rifle barrel (should be chamber cast to verify). Solid matte rib with blade front sight and flip up rear. underlever, back action, exposed hammer design with a rounded bottom receiver. Case colored frame has fine game scene engraving with a punch dot background. Left side features an elk while the right depicts a deer. Lock plate shows rabbits on the left and a pig on the right. Double set triggers. Wood stock has been sanded and re-oiled. Fine checkering on the wrist and forearm. European style small cheekpiece on the right side with small European style metal sling eyelets. Capped horn pistol grip and butt plate. Bores appear to be choked at full and improved modified. CONDITION
Metal is good overall with general wear. Barrels show a good amount of bluing with about 50% remaining. Frame has some discoloration and presents with about 50% case color. Wood has light handling marks and scratches with the forearm being fixed on the inside. All bores have a clean surface. Rifle bore remains very good. Action and hammers are tight. Lever on tang does not raise the rear sight.
