Marked on top of receiver ring ''42/1939'' identifying production by Mauser-Werk A-G., and on right side with three ''(eagle)/63'' inspection stamps. ''(Eagle)/(swastika)'' stamped on left side of receiver ring and barrel. ''(Eagle)/WaA63'' stamp on left side of barrel, triggerguard, front and rear bands, and front sight base. Faint ''(eagle)/WaA63'' stamped on underside of stock wrist and faint partial ''(eagle)/WaA?3'' on right side of buttstock. ''(Eagle)/655'' stamped on underside of bolt handle. Condition overall is fine with metal surfaces retaining approx. 90%-93% finish, with thinning and losses on barrel, triggerguard and front band, and patina across the cupped buttplate. Stock and handguard are very good and show an even dark finish with overall light dents and scratches. Action is smooth, bore has some darkening forward of the chamber but is otherwise bright with very good rifling. No visible import stamps. Scope mount is stamped ''duv/(eagle)/214'' and is in very good condition with a small rust area on the forward lever. The ZF-41 scope is marked ''CXN/K.F. 54767'' and ''Z.F. 1,5x13(degree)(K)'' and is in very good condition with thinning and areas of light patina across the tube. Optics are hazy but visible with a couple of dark areas and scattered spotting. Leather sling is unmarked and in very good condition with light scratches, darkening, and a few surface cracks. A nice example of a WWII German sniper rifle. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R)(Joe Poyer collection)
