Finlay River Outfitters offer two different types of goat hunts: horseback or backpack. For the backpack hunt, you will hike up to the hunting areas and camp there in wall tents and spike camps. Horses provide access to areas that are more difficult to reach by foot, but we will need to come down to the main camp each night to take care of the horses. Which adventure you chose is up to you. Both are very difficult hunts, so you will need to be in excellent physical condition to meet this challenge.
This is a 10-day, 1:1 goat, black bear, and wolf hunt will take place in September or early October. FinlayRiver Outfitters prefers to harvest mature billies, so most of their trophies are over 9 inches. The largest billy was 53 1/2”. Field preparation of your trophy is included, and the meat and trophies will be taken to Prince George following your hunt.
You can upgrade this hunt to include moose or elk for $2,500 USD, or a grizzly bear for $8,000 USD. Licences, tags, royalties, CITES, and Hunting Preservation Fund are not included. Note that you will need two days of travel and will need to pay for overnight accommodations in Prince George. You will also be responsible for your Northern Thunderbird Air flight to Fort Grahame (approximately $750 USD).
