A spring Gould’s Turkey hunt should be on every die-hard hunter’s bucket list! Immerse yourself in the history and natural beauty of La Carrera Ranch, spanning 12,355 acres in the heart of Sonora, Mexico. Part of a ranching legacy that has been in the family since the 1950s, this property was acquired in the 1970s for livestock breeding and has been carefully managed for generations. The Gould’s turkey is the largest subspecies with a broader wingspan, longer tail feathers and taller legs and feet. Their most unique feature is their completely white tail feather tips. Gould’s prefer mountain habitat and La Carrera Ranch in northern Mexico is the prime location. Gould’s Turkey are typically hunted from ground or elevated blinds set in areas which birds are known to frequent. When a gobbler appears nearby, the guide uses the call to get it in range. This exclusive package includes a 3-day guided hunt for 2 hunters for Gould’s Turkey in its native habitat. This hunt may be scheduled for available dates April—May 2025, offering hunters a unique opportunity to connect with the land and its traditions. Managed by Carlos S. Loreto, a founding member of the Brangus Breeders Association in Sonora, the ranch combines its rich ranching heritage with world-class hunting. Hunters will enjoy access to pristine terrain, ensuring a top-quality and ethical hunting experience.
