"Trapdoor" carbine, single-shot, breech-block action in cal. 45-70 Gov't. Cavalry saddle ring carbine with 22" round barrel. Lock plate marked with Eagle, and "U.S. Springfield". Breech block stamped "U.S. MODEL 1873". There is a "P" on lower left of barrel by breech. Serial number on right side of receiver. Barrel band stamped "U" on left side, buttplate tang stamped "U.S." Flip up adjustable white diamond rear sight. Bore is very good/bright, very good rifling. Retains 85% blued finish with specs of rust on top of barrel and rust buildup on case-colored butt plate. Saddle ring has some rust with over 50% loss of finish. "P" proof on the bottom of stock. Wood is very good with some nicks and scratches mostly on the bottom of stock.
NRA Condition is very good.
