SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 74468. Bbl. 4 1/8". 5th Variation Model I semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Germany by Friedrich Langenhan. Right side of the breechblock is marked "F.L. SELBSTLADER/ D.R.G.M. 2526", with the digits on either side of "2526" having been overstamped. The left side of the frame is stamped with a Bulgarian Rampant Lion proof on the upper trigger guard web, with "1709.28." stamped on the left side of the slide. Right side of the frame, breechblock, slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "FL" checkered brown hard rubber grips. Integral blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. All numbers are matching to the frame via the last three digits of the S# (468) and include the frame, slide, and breechblock. MAGS: One 7-rd. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild wear and thinning, with scattered spots of light-to-surface oxidation and pitting scattered overall. Left side of the frame exhibits mild degrees of pitting beneath the grip panel. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage overall, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Left grip panel shows age-related discoloration. A very nice example of a Bulgarian-proofed Langenhan Model I pistol. (24-6815/MLW). CURIO. $400-800.
